Thursday Thoughts: Hair Rut Ruminations

Share

Good morning, blogosphere! Today, I want to delve into a topic that has been on my mind lately – the hair rut. You know the feeling, right? When you’re stuck in a style or color that you’re just not loving anymore, but you don’t know how to break out of it. Well, that’s where I’m at, and I thought I’d share my thoughts with you.

Let’s start with the style. I’ve been sporting the same basic cut for what feels like forever. It’s easy, it’s low maintenance, but it’s also kind of…boring. I find myself looking in the mirror and longing for something different, something that makes me feel more confident and stylish. But where to start? Should I go for a dramatic chop? Add some layers? Try a new updo? The options are endless, and that’s part of the problem.

Then there’s the color. I’ve been a slave to my natural hair color for far too long. While I love the idea of going bold and trying a fun shade like purple or pink, I’m also scared of the commitment. What if I hate it? What if it doesn’t look good on me? These are the thoughts that keep me from taking the plunge and making a change.

But here’s the thing: I know I’m not alone in this. We all get stuck in ruts from time to time, and it’s easy to feel like it’s too much effort to make a change. But I also know that sometimes, taking a risk and stepping out of our comfort zones can be incredibly empowering and rewarding.

So, today I’m making a promise to myself. I’m going to start researching different hairstyles and colors, looking for inspiration, and maybe even booking a consultation with a stylist. I’m going to stop being afraid of change and start embracing the idea of a new look.

I’d love to hear from you guys too. Have you ever been in a hair rut? How did you break out of it? Any tips or advice for someone who’s looking to make a change? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

In the meantime, let’s all take a step towards a new and exciting hair journey. Because who knows, maybe that little change will make all the difference in how we feel about ourselves. Here’s to new beginnings and beautiful hair! 💇‍♀️💕
